The Ninth Article of the Apostles Creed
I Believe in the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints
To begin this post on the Ninth Article of the Apostles Creed , we will be looking at what we call “The Four Marks of the Church“. I have to say that the Four Marks of the Church are absolutely vital to one’s understanding of what the Catholic Church actually is ; they are also the bedrock of the Church’s claim to being the One True Church founded by Christ! If you choose to learn about the Four Marks of the Church, you will be well on your way to being able to defend the Catholic Church and Her “constant and very firm teachings “.
What are the Four Marks of the Church? I am glad you asked ! The Church is : 1. One, 2. Holy, 3. Catholic, and 4. Apostolic. We will focus first on the oneness of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church’s unity is evident in its oneness. The Church is one in Jesus Christ through His mystical body. There is one Jesus and He founded one Church, not many Churches. Jesus never said churches, he said church. Let us look at the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 16:” And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. ( my emphasis added)” Notice Jesus’s words, “my church”. “My church” is singular not plural, so this must mean one Church.
The Sacred Scriptures are very explicit concerning the Church’s oneness. I have heard it said before that , ” a text without context is no text at all “. I have to say that I completely agree with that statement. Certain verses of Holy Scripture on their own can be twisted and manipulated to fit a person’s particular agenda or personal belief or wish. On this topic of the One Holy Catholic Church , it is inconceivable that the Holy Scriptures can be read in any other way than to support the Oneness of the Catholic Church. Let us look at just a few of the verses from Holy Scripture, they speak for themselves ; after all it is God’s Word ! In John Chapter 10 verse 16 Jesus speaks “So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.” Jesus again speaks on John Chapter 17 verses 17-23 “ “I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me.( my emphasis with bold).
Let us move on to St Paul so that we can get some more context concerning the Oneness of the Church. Like I stated earlier, it is very important to read the Holy Scriptures in context of the entire Bible. We cannot pick and choose, or cut and paste the particular verses that may co-sign our personal thoughts or ideas. Like St Augustine states, ” The old is revealed in the new, and the new is hidden in the old “. The Holy Scriptures do not contradict one another ; in fact, they always compliment one another.
Once again, let us read St Paul’s words from the Letter to the Ephesians , Chapter 4 verses 3-6 ” 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all. ” (my emphasis added). Brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ I urge you to read and re-read these passages, they leave no room for interpretation, especially when read in context with the Bible as a whole. Also I ask that you key in on “ one baptism “. I have run into so-called former Catholics, I call them roaming Catholics, who have actually been ” re-baptized “. This is a serious offence against God. God didn’t make a mistake when you were baptized the first time. Trust Him, He doesn’t make mistakes, ever!
I’ll tell you what, I will list a few more passages you can investigate concerning the Church’s oneness. Here they are :
1 Cor 1:10 – there should be no divisions among you ( over 40,000+ protestant denominations)
Col 3:15 – called in one body
Rom 12:4-5 – though many, we are one body in Christ
Rom 16:17 – avoid those who cause schism ( I wonder how Luther interpreted this verse???)
Mark 3:25 – And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand
Jesus and St Paul make it very clear that unity is the fundamental characteristic of the One True Church. The Catholic Church has stood as one for 2,000 years. The Catholic Church is one in government ; under the Pope and the Bishops. The Catholic Church is One in Faith ; we need only look to the Apostles Creed, Seven Sacraments, the Our Father, and the Ten Commandments. The Catholic Church is One in Worship ; we worship together at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on all days (especially on Sunday), all continents, all time zones. It doesn’t matter where you may find yourself on this earth, if there is a Catholic Church in the area you will most likely be able to follow along.
May Almighty God bless us and protect us from the World , the devil, and ourselves !
‘ Gender Ideology is Demonic ’

Austrian bishop: Pope Francis told me ‘gender ideology is demonic’
This article borrowed from Life site News
Andreas Laun , Pope Francis
VATICAN – Pope Francis strongly condemned “gender ideology” in a private conversation with Austrian Bishop Andreas Laun earlier this year, the bishop related in a recent essay.
In doing so, the pope follows in the footsteps of his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI. Nearing the end of his pontificate, the pope emeritus spoke twice about gender ideology as “a negative trend for humankind,” and a “profound falsehood,” which “it is the duty of pastors of the Church” to put the faithful “on guard against.”
“In response to my questioning, Pope Francis said, ‘Gender ideology is demonic!’” Bishop Laun wrote in his essay, adding that the pope was not exaggerating in his comment. Steve Jalsevac/LifeSiteNews.com
Bishop Laun, auxiliary bishop of Salzburg, wrote about the words of Pope Francis in March in an essay for the German Catholic news publication Kath.net. Bishop Laun told LifeSiteNews that he met the pope briefly on January 30 as part of the Austrian bishops’ ad limina visit, a meeting with the pope that bishops must do every five years. Laun added that he was the last of the bishops to speak with the Holy Father.
“In response to my questioning, Pope Francis said, ‘Gender ideology is demonic!’” Laun wrote in his essay, adding that the pope was not exaggerating in his comment. “Indeed, gender ideology is the destruction of persons, which is why Pope Francis was justified in calling it demonic,” he said.
Writing of gender ideology, Bishop Laun explained that “the core thesis of this sick product of reason is the end result of a radical feminism which the homosexual lobby has made its own.”
“It asserts that there are not only Man and Woman, but also other ‘genders’. And furthermore: every person can choose his or her gender,” he added.
“Today,” he said, “it is promoted by governments and VIPs and substantial amounts of money are spent on spreading it, even in teaching materials for kindergartens and schools.”
For more information on the subject, Bishop Laun encouraged the reading of the latest book by famed German Catholic sociologist Gabriele Kuby, Die globale sexuelle Revolution: Zerstörung der Freiheit im Namen der Freiheit (The Global Sexual Revolution: Destruction of Freedom in the Name of Freedom).
Kuby, a long-time friend of Pope Benedict XVI, formally presented the now-pope-emeritus with a copy of the book in November 2012. “Thanks be to God that you write and speak (about these things),” Pope Benedict said to her.
For Kuby it is no shocking thing to call gender ideology demonic.
“Gender ideology is the deepest rebellion against God that is possible,” Kuby told LifeSiteNews. “Man does not accept that he is created as man or woman, no, he says, ‘I decide! This is my freedom!’ – against experience, against nature, against reason, against science!”
“It is the ultimate perversion of individualism,” she explained, “It robs man of the last remnant of his identity, that is, to be a man and a woman, after having lost faith and family and nation.”
“It is indeed diabolical,” she concluded, “that an ideology, which every person can discern as a lie, can capture the common sense of people and become the dominant ideology of our time.”
In his December 21, 2012 address to the Roman Curia, Pope Benedict gave an extensive warning on the use of the “term ‘gender’ as a new philosophy of sexuality.”
“According to this philosophy, sex is no longer a given element of nature, that man has to accept and personally make sense of: it is a social role that we choose for ourselves, while in the past it was chosen for us by society,” he said. “The profound falsehood of this theory and of the anthropological revolution contained within it is obvious.”
The pope continued: “People dispute the idea that they have a nature, given by their bodily identity, that serves as a defining element of the human being. They deny their nature and decide that it is not something previously given to them, but that they make it for themselves. According to the biblical creation account, being created by God as male and female pertains to the essence of the human creature. This duality is an essential aspect of what being human is all about, as ordained by God. This very duality as something previously given is what is now disputed. The words of the creation account: “male and female he created them” (Gen 1:27) no longer apply. No, what applies now is this: it was not God who created them male and female – hitherto society did this, now we decide for ourselves. Man and woman as created realities, as the nature of the human being, no longer exist. Man calls his nature into question.”
Benedict XVI noted the philosophy’s harm on human dignity, family, and children. ”When the freedom to be creative becomes the freedom to create oneself, then necessarily the Maker himself is denied and ultimately man too is stripped of his dignity as a creature of God, as the image of God at the core of his being.”
Pope Benedict again addressed gender ideology a month later in a January 19, 2013 address. “It is the duty of pastors of the Church,” said Pope Benedict, “to put the Catholic faithful and every person of good will and right reason on guard against the trend of these ideologies.”
“It is a negative trend for humankind, although it may be disguised by good feelings in the name of alleged progress, alleged rights, or an alleged humanism,” he said. “Thus the Church reaffirms her great ‘yes’ to the dignity and beauty of marriage as an expression of the faithful and generous bond between man and woman, and her no to ‘gender’ philosophies, because the reciprocity between male and female is an expression of the beauty of nature willed by the Creator.”

The Third Day He Rose Again from the Dead
Fifth Article of the Apostle’s Creed : Jesus’s Resurrection
We have talked, actually typed and hopefully read, wink wink, much of what has been written on this blog about Our Dear Lord and His life and death. Now we need to look at the true historical event that took place on that First Easter Sunday! The Third Day He Rose Again from the Dead. I have to say, I love meditating on the Glorious Mysteries of Our Lord and Lady’s Holy Rosary, especially on this mystery in particular ; Jesus’s Resurrection. In the words on Father Fernbeck, ” can you just imagine, ” seeing Our Blessed Lord’s resurrection, actually seeing Him come out of that tomb in His Glorified state at that ! It truly is a mystery worth meditating and praying on with much regularity. So, as I have stated here before, this blog deals with the TRUE TEACHINGS of The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, and this part of the catechesis is also part of our Faith. I cannot stress with enough emphasis that Jesus’s Resurrection is not just a strict mystery, but a historical ,reasonable, and credible recorded event that can be substantiated and proved through the many historic documents and witness testimonies that are still available to us today. As St Paul saids in 1 Corinthian 15:” And if Christ be not risen again, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” We know for a fact that Jesus truly raised Himself from the dead by His own Divine Power, because of the testimony of His disciples and the hundreds of other witnesses that saw Him. If you do not believe this, than no reasonable sane person could ever believe in any recorded history or person that has ever existed or been written about at anytime in recorded history. We have much more historical recorded history detailing Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection than we do about any historical figure before or after His time on earth ; including Josephus among the Jews, Caesar, and Pliny among the Romans, and Herodotus, and Thucydides, Plato and Aristotle among the Greeks. So, it is a very reasonable, historical, and credible mystery to believe in Our Lord and His Glorious Resurrection. One other historical recorded proof just amazes and adds tremendous credibility to the truth of Our Lord’s Resurrection, it is the fact of the willing and courageous martyrdom of 11 of the 12 Apostle’s, and the many disciples and witnesses of Our Lord’s Resurrection . So many of the same Apostles and disciples who originally abandoned our Lord because of fear, most heroically went willing to their death for Him only after having seen Our Lord after He raised Himself from the dead. We know to this day where many of those Apostles and disciples are actually buried today! Yes, today, we can visit the Holy Relics of many of the first martyrs, many are in Rome at St Peters Basilica and all over Rome for that matter. People don’t willingly die for something they don’t believe in, they just don’t. Especially not the way so many of the disciples of Jesus did, who happily, joyfully, and willingly were martyred giving witness and true testimony to Our Risen Lord! We still have martyrs today, look at Syria and Iraq in particular, and please pray for our brothers and sisters in the middle east especially!
I will continue more on Jesus’ Resurrection shortly
May God Bless us and protect us from the world, ourselves and the devil
He is Risen !!!

He is Risen !!!
Alleluia Alleluia Christ is Risen !!!!
April 1, 2015
Holy Week is a time of great penance and reflection. It is the most important time to reflect on Jesus’s approach to the Cross. As Jesus’s Passion approaches, it is a special time to reflect on what He did for me, my family, and the World ; how Jesus willingly chose to go through torture, humiliation, and execution for ll of us, knowing that many would turn their backs on Him. I think about the twelve Apostles and their last week with Jesus before His Crucifixion on Good Friday. I will contemplate the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Scourging at the Pillar, and the rest of the sorrowful mysteries. Like St Ignatius of Loyola suggests : I will try to imagine being at these actual places and take part in what happened.
Look at Jesus’s hands as He turns the simple bread into His Body. Watch His hands as He holds the chalice of wine and turns it into His Blood. Watch Jesus wash the feet of His Apostle’s ; always teaching us through His Word and His action’s. Imagine the way Jesus felt knowing that Judas was going to betray him for thirty pieces of silver. Can you imagine? Betray your Creator, whom you just spent the last three years of your life with ?
To be honest, every time I commit a sin, I betray Jesus! Every time I sin, I add a lash to His Scourging. Every time I sin, Jesus sweats a tear of blood because of me. Every time I sin, I strike the nail through His hands and His feet. Every time I sin, I pierce our Lord through His precious side! Let me never forget dear Lord that you carried and assumed all of my personal sins onto yourself!
Jesus in His human nature, literally took all of the sins of mankind into and onto His body. Can you imagine the actual weight of all of mankind’s sins ; past, present, and future? I have a hard time living with my own sins, never mind someone else’s. Think about it. Can you imagine carrying around someone else’s sins? Jesus didn’t just do it for those who love Him. Jesus chose to take the sins of those who hate him to! Thank you Jesus!
